What Costs Should I Expect For Developing 3D Printable Products?
Projects for developing 3D printable products can be very different and so are the prices.
But basically there are the following drivers that determine the costs of a project:
1. Number of products
Basically, the number of products determines the scope of the project and thus also the costs. However, in our experience, from around 10 products onwards, the costs per product can decrease because you can work much faster and more economically.
2. Complexity of products
3D printable parts can vary from simple shapes to highly complex products. Accordingly, the complexity of the products to be developed is also a strong factor for costs.
3. Licensing
Finally, it is important to consider whether the development service as such is paid for once or whether the designs are licensed. At Enable 3D we also always offer full-service licensing. These are significantly lower but recurring annual costs with additional services.
As you can see, there are very different factors that influence the final costs. However, from our experience, the following price range can be assumed:
- One-off development costs of €10,000 - €15,000 per product
- Annual licensing per product €2,000 - €4,000
